Apart from that, an MBA in Canada will advance your business skills and offer you a ticket to enter the business world with all the necessary knowledge. As an international student, you are welcome to complete all or part of your education in Canada. Like other countries, there are both public and private universities. Tuition fees for public universities average between 7,500 and 22,500 CAD per year, while tuition for private universities tend to be much higher. With few exceptions, degrees earned in Canada are internationally recognized.

Why Study in Canada?

Academic excellence – One of the most important reasons why students choose to study in Canada is because of the high quality of education. When a student receives a degree from a Canadian university, it acts as a mark of trust and excellence. 26 of Canada’s universities rank in the QS World University Rankings 2019 and 27 of them in the THE World University Rankings 2019.

Ample research opportunities – One of the biggest reasons why Canadian education stands unique is because of its strong focus on research and development. If you’re a research scholar, there can be no country better than Canada. The government of Canada offers great support to research in the disciplines of medicine, telecommunication, agriculture, environmental science and technology.

Affordable, falls in budget – Tuition fee in Canada, when compared to universities in the US and UK, is fairly cheaper. And when considering the return on investment, it is quite a viable option for Indian students. You can also apply to a range of Canadian scholarships to cut down on your educational expenses.

Cultural diversity – In Canada, you’ll find extremely warm and welcoming people who come from varied ethnic groups with different cultures and lifestyle. The multicultural environment in Canada promotes friendliness and peaceful living like no other country. In fact, you will find a lot of Indians studying, working and living here. You can also experience festivals and rituals.

Safe and peaceful – Canada has been consistently ranked as one of the safest nations in the world. In 2018, the Global Peace Index*, listed Canada as the sixth peaceful country across the globe. As international student, you’ll enjoy the same rights as any other Canadian. Earn while you learn – Thanks to its special regulations, Canada provides all its international students with an opportunity to work for up to 20 hours every week during their semesters and full-time during the summer and winter breaks. To work on-campus or as an intern in any company, you would not require any additional work permit as your study permit is enough to help you find a part time job.

1. Ensure you meet all requirements

Applying to university in Canada as an international student does not happen overnight so make sure you start planning at least a year in advance. Have a look at the requirements for various courses and see what documents you need for each one.

Bear in mind what you need for universities in one province may be totally different to what you need in another.

For all universities, however, you are likely to need:

1) An up-to-date passport

2) An English and/or French language proficiency qualification

3) Proof of how you will be funding your studies

2. Find a course and select your universities

You will choose and apply for a specific major when applying for university in Canada but unlike the UK, this tends to be more flexible if you change your mind.

You must make sure you apply to an institution that is on the designated learning institutes (DLI) list in order to obtain a student visa and be certain you want to study at the universities you select as there are separate fees for every program and university you apply to.

3. Apply to universities

As we mentioned, the application process varies widely from course to course, and university to university. So, reach out to the universities you are interested in and they will send you their own application packs which should explain you through the process.

The application fee for each program at each university can range from around CA$100 (US$78) to CA$250 (US$195) so, with application costs this high, be sure you are certain you would want to study there and you meet the requirements before sending off applications willy-nilly.
